Abdul Aziz Said’s pioneering approach to shaping a peaceful world by placing morality, values, and justice at the center of international relations is more important than ever.
The Abdul Aziz Said Peace Foundation will be dedicated to preserving and building on Dr. Said’s legacy by advancing the peace and conflict resolution goals embodied in his teachings and writings. The seeds of peace that Dr. Said dedicated his life to planting can flourish for generations to come through endowments, peace studies fellowships, lectures, and scholarships, creative publications and programs, educational conferences, and more.
Our initial goal is to raise funds for an endowed peace studies Chair for an institute of higher learning. This Chair would, among other things, promote networking and collaboration between scholars and practitioners in the field and establish a program for student volunteers to hold conflict resolution workshops in public high schools. It would also establish an annual scholarship for students affected by violence in the US and abroad. This is an ambitious initiative; endowing a Chair dedicated to Dr. Said's legacy and ideals will cost about $2-3 million.
Thank you for helping to keep Dr. Said’s voice and tireless advocacy for peace and justice alive and thriving. At this time, we are asking for pledges rather than immediate donations because the Foundation is in the process of securing non-profit 501c3 status so contributions from US residents will be tax deductible.
To make a pledge, please send your pledge amount to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will reach out to you about making your donation as soon as The Foundation is granted non-profit status. If you have any questions please call 202- 640-9141.
